It's not the end of the world

My last day on earth was spent swimming in the river at the bottom of our garden. Slurping fermented giggle juice and keeping the vibrations high, we made sure that we’d go out being shiny, happy people.

But, knowing the end of the world today was simply starting another, allowed my family to relax into play, open our hearts, mouths, eyes and ears and fall in love with the summer solstice. Hangin’ out on the river bank giggling with the little ones, had me rejoicing in the present moment. I’ve been enjoying the elasticity of time these last few months and love to stretch out days like spaghetti, playing with my three angels. Looking towards the children usually sets my balance meter. You don’t often see them getting their knickers in a twist because time’s running out! What if time had come to an end today? Can you imagine how crazed our systems would have become… Instead of just being, cramming ripe plums, loquats and berries into stained pinkilicious mouths, and paddling in cool clear waters, we’d have been frantically doing something that wouldn’t have been half as much as fun! Hunter S. Thompson wrote that ‘some days were two sizes too small’. Not if you grab the life you want and relish in your passions, loved ones and the present day in the way you wish to live it.

Being aware that you are the light shining within, makes it a whole heap easier to radiate out towards others. And living your days doing the stuff that you love helps you feel balanced, centered, happy and full-filled. I’m lovin’ these warm sunny days, nestling up towards evening fires rolling inside drums, impromptu picnics on the evening beach and busy market days catching up with the community. Feasting on seasonal delights, gorging on sunlight and raw chocolates gently spiced with the flavours of a winter solstice, gives me the chance to dance in the light of love, connecting with my far away family tucked away in the depths of winter.

Today, an age fell away and another stood proud and strong. A time for us all to stand up to the light within and bathe ourselves in our birthright. To love and to be loved. Happy awakenings to us all.
